Special study tours for people who seek to learn more about the Middle East and understand the news. The tours are led by Dr. David Gurevich, who researches and writes on geo-political issues. In this category, we offer several options:
- Geo-Politics of Jerusalem - In this tour we explore the topics which follow the present situation of the city: East Jerusalem vs West Jerusalem, the Holy Basin, and the checkpoints. We will visit various points on the "seam line" and attempt to understand the challenges for the decision makers. Optional: visit to the Temple Mount; explore the Status Quo in the Holy Sites.
- The West Bank and the future Peace Negotiations - Visit several key locations in the West Bank around Jerusalem. We will discuss the way how the Oslo agreements are implemented, what has changed in the recent years, and what may unfold the future. Typical sites visited on this tour: Nebi Samuel, lookout on E1 area, Maaleh Adumim (an Israeli city), and the border with Jordan. Optional: meeting with a Palestinian and with with a member of Israeli community in the West Bank.
- The Northern border tour - The tour provides an overview on Israel's northern's borders. Standing near the border at the Golan Heights, we will look into Syria discuss the events of Syrian Civil War. Then, we will visit a Druze community on the Golan Heights (optional: meeting with a local leader and taste local cuisine). We will proceed to the Lebanese border to Kibbutz Misgav Am, where we will look into Lebanon and hear a briefing about the political developments in Lebanon and how it influences Israel.
